I arrived at CHIPROMS on the 6th of October 2012. I was welcomed with open arms. The children and staff made me feel a part of the CHIPROMS family from the day I arrived. I helped in the house, especially with the children. I assisted them with their homework and give German lessons. During the day I assisted the manager of CHIPROMS in the office and followed her on outings. Since my arrival at CHIPROMS , I have had a lot of good experiences and I enjoyed every minutes in the home . The children are very lovely its impressive how much love and joy they have and received. I feel very at home at CHIPROMS in Nigeria and that is why I plan to extend my stay for some weeks.

When I first arrived in Lagos, Nigeria on November 3, 2012 .I instantly saw how different it was from Canada. I was greeted at the airport by Mrs Atinuke Idowu, the wife of the founder. The heat and the traffic that I experienced right away, was new for me. We arrived at CHIPROMS the next morning , where I received a warm greeting by the all the children and the staff. The poverty that I see around Ibadan is heart- breaking, but it’s amazing to see how even in the midst of poverty the people here have a great joy. The condition of the home is vastly better than the living conditions I see so many people living in. The children are truly blessed to have such a good, safe environment to grow up in at CHIPROMs. I have gotten to know all the children and have grown to love them. It’s wonderful to see how CHIPROMs cares for these children and give them what they need. The children have a joy for God and are very grateful for everything that He’s given to them. I’m helping with the children assisting with their homework, in the office and with anything else they have for me .l have been able to use my computer skill to assist in the office. l’ve gotten to experience different new foods, a traditional Nigerian wedding, a tour around old Ibadan city, visited a school to see how it operates, and many other things. My experience here will be one that I will never forget.
